Breeding is a serious endeavor which brings great joy but also lays a great responsibility on the breeder for the new lives brought into this world. While the bitch owner will spend more time and effort before and after the breeding, and then care for the litter after whelping, the stud dog owner is equally responsible for the quality and health of a new litter. So before breeding, the owners of both the stud and bitch will agree to follow the Cuvac USA breeder guidelines.

Cuvac USA is working with our club members here and our advisors overseas to develop guidelines that will preserve the best qualities of the Slovenský Čuvač.

When breeding Slovenský Čuvač dogs, emphasis shall be placed upon the qualities of character as well as appearance. The purpose of breeding is to attempt to bring the breed’s qualities to perfection in accordance with the breed standard.
